The Arts District in the northern section of Downtown is home to several arts venues and is the largest continuous arts district in the United States. Dallas also hosts an array of events during the year including the State Fair of Texas, which has been held annually at Fair Park since 1886, Taste of Dallas, and the annual Halloween event, The Wake, which features local art and music.
Other places of interest include the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and the Dallas Museum of Art. The area is home to six major league sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA, the Texas Rangers of the MLB, the Dallas Stars of the NHL, FC Dallas of the MLS, and the Dallas Wings of the WNBA.
